Network Server Monitor umožňuje sledovat Váš server, zda je dostupný ze sítě internet. Jsme schopni monitorovat samotný server (pomocí příkazu ping) nebo konkrétní službu (např. http, SMTP, telnet, ssh, ftp). Jestliže zjistíme, že se na Váš server nelze spojit, okamžitě Vám zašleme e-mailem upozornění, že Vás server je nedostupný.

Všechny pokusy o spojení jsou zaznamenány, statisticky vyhodnoceny a zpracovány do grafů

Pro měření využíváme několik měřících center umístěných na různých sítí u různých providerů, abychom předešli planým poplachům

What is Network Server Monitor - system of several NSMon centers (4 at present) located in different ISP sites.

What is NSMon centers - centers that check availability of monitoring services at regular interval.

What is monitoring service - host:port pair, that host is host name or ip address of monitoring server and port is port number of monitoring server (e.g. 80 for http - web service, 25 for SMTP - mail service). If port is set to 0, then ping only availability checks are performed.

What is availability check - NSMon servers sends syn packet (or icmp for port=0) to monitoring service at regular interval and measures return packet response time. If service returns REJECT packet or no answer is returned till timeout (5 sec), failure of service is labeled. If more than one half of NSMon centers (i.e. at least 3) detects failure of monitoring service, this service is declare as unavailable. Our system immediately informs user about this service unavailability by e-mail.

Response times of particular services from all NSMon centers are congregated, removed measuring errors (single timeouts) and inserted into database for graph creating. These clean data are also aggregated for yearly, monthly and last-30-days statistics.
